These guidelines are here to help you measure for a new composite door and frame. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us; we are happy to assist.
Measure the height and width from the OUTSIDE of your home. Always measure the exact brickwork opening, not the existing frame or door.
Take measurements from brick to brick in at least three different places. Subtract 10mm from both the height and width measurements to allow for a 5mm fitting allowance around the new frame. This allowance ensures the new frame sits plumb and square within the opening. Use packers and silicone to secure the frame in place and fill any gaps.
Measure brick-to-brick at three points: top, middle, and bottom of the opening. Use the smallest measurement and deduct 10mm from it to allow for a proper fit.
Measure brick-to-brick at three points: left, middle, and right of the opening. Use the smallest measurement and deduct 10mm from it to allow for a proper fit.
Measure as above for the main door. For the side panel, measure from the center point of the frame between the door and the side panel to the outer edge of the side panel frame.
Measure as above for the main door. For the top light, measure from the center point of the frame between the door and the top light to the top of the door frame. This gives you the transom drop for the top light.

The threshold is a crucial component that aligns with the door frame on the floor, preventing drafts and water ingress. It ensures the door panel sits securely behind it, providing adequate protection for the bottom of the door.
Available in silver and gold low aluminum options, our thresholds are designed to enhance accessibility by minimizing trip hazards and facilitating easy access for wheelchair users. This practical feature helps maintain a comfortable and secure interior environment.
A door cill is a vital component located at the base of the door frame, offering a sturdy foundation and protection against drafts and water ingress. It ensures the door remains secure and stable, enhancing the overall durability of the entryway.
We offer a variety of cill options to suit your needs, including 85mm, 150mm, and 180mm. Each cill is designed for both functionality and aesthetic appeal, helping to maintain a comfortable and weather-resistant interior environment while adding a touch of style to your home's entrance.
Add-ons are extensions that clip onto the side of your door frame, increasing its thickness or width to provide extra clearance for your composite door. These extensions ensure a perfect fit and smooth operation, especially when additional space is required for proper installation.
Easy to install and highly effective, add-ons enhance both the functionality and alignment of your composite door, making them an excellent choice for achieving optimal performance and aesthetic appeal.
